Hyun Joo-yup’s Daechi BBQ Stop: Pork Belly, Hanwoo and the 100g Price Rule

The Korean barbecue restaurant in Hyun Joo-yup’s nostalgic food episode is Daechi Jeongyuk Sikdang (대치정육식당), at 450 Yeoksam-ro in Gangnam, Seoul. His story starts with the pork belly he remembers from his school days, even though the meal also includes Hanwoo beef. Before ordering, notice one detail that changes the budget: the online meat prices are listed per 100 grams, not per meal.

Why this visit meant something to him
In the episode, Hyun recalls coming here as a high-school student. The pork belly and scallion salad bring back those visits. That personal connection is the reason to watch this particular restaurant story: it is a return to a familiar place rather than a claim that every new visitor will share the same nostalgia.
He begins with beef, including chadolbagi, and saves pork belly for later. He also talks about enjoying the restaurant’s beef as a gift set before this filmed visit. The video therefore covers two different interests: the pork associated with his school memories and the beef he wants to eat now.
What to look for in the filmed meal
Chadolbagi (차돌박이) is the beef-brisket option to locate on the menu. Hyun responds positively to its savory richness and chew. Later, samgyeopsal (삼겹살), or pork belly, brings the conversation back to the old combination with scallion salad.
The side dishes matter to his reaction, too. He praises the seaweed soup and enjoys the soybean-paste finish. These are descriptions of his meal during filming, not a promise that a current order includes the same unlimited side dishes or exactly the same set of accompaniments.
If you are visiting because of the episode, pork belly is the dish most closely tied to the story. If your priority is Hanwoo, compare the beef cuts and the weight-based prices instead of ordering purely from the number of plates on screen.
How much is the meat?
Naver Place’s menu, checked October 21, 2026, lists:
- Pork belly, 삼겹살: ₩9,500 per 100g.
- Pork neck, 목살: ₩9,500 per 100g.
- Chadolbagi, 차돌박이: ₩16,500 per 100g.
- Assorted specialty beef cuts, 특수모듬: ₩32,000 per 100g.
- Kkot-deungsim, 꽃등심: ₩36,000 per 100g.
The listing marks the beef options above as Hanwoo grade 1++. Its menu update date is January 29, 2026. These are displayed menu figures, so confirm any changes with the restaurant.
A budget example: 200g of pork belly works out to ₩19,000; 200g of chadolbagi works out to ₩33,000. Together that is ₩52,000 for 400g of meat. This is arithmetic from the listed unit prices, not a verified two-person set or a statement of the minimum order. Rice, drinks and any applicable extra charges are outside that calculation.
When asking about an order, separate two questions: how many grams can be ordered, and whether there are additional table or side-dish charges. Do not assume the corkage or service arrangements discussed in an older video are still current.

Pork belly or Hanwoo for a first visit?
Choose based on the experience you want. Pork belly follows the school-day memory that frames Hyun’s visit. Chadolbagi lets you compare the beef cut he enjoys with the pork later in the meal. The more expensive specialty cuts are a separate budget decision; the celebrity connection alone does not make them necessary.
