Pungja’s Ingkko Kalguksu in Guri: Thick Noodles, Potatoes and Spicy Kimchi

Ingkko Kalguksu (잉꼬칼국수) in Guri is the noodle restaurant Pungja visits in the Guri episode of DdoGanJip. The appeal in her reaction is the contrast between a plain-looking bowl and its substantial noodles, potatoes and rich-tasting broth. The kimchi is another part of the experience—but her reaction makes clear that it is spicy.
One correction is useful before you plan a trip: Ingkko appears in the episode, but Milhyanggi is the final selected restaurant. Being featured and being the episode’s winner are different things.

What surprised Pungja about the bowl?
The Ingkko segment follows a local recommendation. The bowl looks simple, with thick noodles, potatoes and green vegetables rather than an elaborate pile of toppings. Pungja’s positive reaction comes after tasting the broth: the flavor strikes her as more substantial than the appearance suggests.
She spends time on the potatoes and the way the noodles take up the broth. The segment also shows the idea of breaking some potato into the soup. For an English-speaking visitor, that is a more useful detail than simply translating the restaurant’s name as “a famous noodle place.” It tells you what to pay attention to when the bowl arrives.
Expect thick noodles, not a delicate noodle soup
Kalguksu is commonly translated as knife-cut noodle soup. Here, the noodle texture is central to the filmed reaction. Pungja emphasizes their thickness and chew, rather than describing a fine noodle that slips down quickly.
That helps you decide whether this stop fits your taste. If you prefer a lighter-looking bowl with narrow noodles, the episode suggests a different style. If you enjoy a substantial wheat noodle and potato together, those are the features worth investigating.
The video compares the broth’s richness to other foods. Such a comparison is not an ingredient list: it does not establish that the broth contains chicken or that it is suitable for a vegetarian diet. Ask the restaurant about stock ingredients if you need that information.
The kimchi is the spicy part to notice
Pungja gives an unmistakably strong reaction to the kimchi’s heat, while still enjoying its pairing with the noodles. Do not infer that every part of the meal is mild just because the soup is not bright red.
If you dislike strong chili heat, taste a small amount of kimchi separately before mixing it into your bowl. This is our practical suggestion based on her reaction, not an instruction attributed to the restaurant or a claim that we tested the food ourselves.
Menu price and address
The restaurant listing checked on October 21, 2026 shows kalguksu at ₩12,000. Two bowls would therefore be ₩24,000 before any additional orders. The menu update shown is August 24, 2026; check the live listing for changes.

Guri is outside Seoul proper. Naver Place lists the restaurant about 820m from Guri Station Exit 7. Check the route from where you are staying rather than treating this as a central-Seoul stop. Use the listing for the opening information on your actual visit date.

Where to find the restaurant in the video
The Guri episode covers more than one restaurant. The Ingkko section begins around 28 minutes; the thick noodles and spicy kimchi reactions follow. The final selection later in the episode is Milhyanggi, so a headline claiming Ingkko won would misrepresent the program.
For a first-time visitor choosing between food stops, this is a texture-led noodle option. It offers a different style from the offal soup in our Sung Si-kyung guide or the Korean-Chinese noodles in Heebab’s Bucheon visit. Choose the dish you actually want to eat, then use the map to see whether the trip fits your itinerary.
