Jung Kook’s Bulguri combines Buldak and Neoguri noodles, with all the Buldak liquid sauce but only half the Neoguri soup powder. He posted the recipe on BTS Weverse on March 16, 2023. The photo above is from that post, rather than our own recreation.

The original cooking method, in English

  1. Heat 650–680ml water in a frying pan.
  2. Before it boils, add the full Buldak liquid-sauce packet, half the Neoguri powder and the Neoguri dried ingredients. Save the Buldak garnish.
  3. Add the noodles once the water boils. Cook while reducing the liquid and checking the noodles.
  4. Add more water if it tastes too salty.
  5. Finish with the Buldak garnish. Roasted sesame seeds and a little perilla oil are optional additions mentioned in his post.

In a follow-up comment, he emphasizes keeping the heat high. He does not give an exact cooking time or a measured amount of perilla oil.

Keep the two seasoning packets separate

Before turning on the stove, put the packets beside their matching noodle package. This is our practical way of avoiding the easiest mix-up: pouring every packet into the pan simply because two noodle cakes are being cooked.

The distinction matters more than a perfectly timed countdown. A wide pan and a small saucepan do not lose water at the same rate. Watch the noodles and liquid rather than inventing a universal cooking time that the original recipe never specified.

What if you want a milder version?

You can choose to use less hot sauce to suit your taste, but label that as your adaptation, not Jung Kook’s exact recipe. Likewise, adding cheese or an egg may be a personal variation; neither belongs in the ingredient list above as a verified part of this post.

We have not cooked and taste-tested this batch. The post gives a useful starting method, while the final texture depends on your cookware and how far you reduce the liquid. Package versions can differ between markets, so compare the packets you have instead of assuming every product with a similar name is identical.

From a celebrity recipe to a Korean food trip

Prefer a noodle restaurant to cooking at home? Heebab’s Bucheon visit is a different route into Korean food: black-bean noodles, tripe jjamppong and a menu with several sharing sets. Our guide explains the dishes and links directly to the restaurant map.
